1.2. RPM and YUM

A better way to install Symbolic (waiting that will be added to official RedHat/Fedora repositories) is using yum localinstall, so all required dependencies will be solved and installed. What you have to do is download RPM for your distribution and type, for example:

            yum localinstall symbolic-1.2.0-4.fc9.noarch.rpm 

For RHEL5

If you are using RedHat Enterprise Linux, to complete your installation successfully, you need to activate two extras repositories:

  • Supplementary Productivity Apps

  • Extras
